Food minister: Ensuring food security is top priority


He added that safe and unadulterated food must be available for the publicFood Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder has directed the officials concerned, in Naogaon, to ensure food security by all necessary means.He also told them to ensure the availability of safe and unadulterated food for the public.

The newly-appointed minister issued the directive during a meeting with local government officials, at the deputy commissioner’s meeting room in Naogaon, on Wednesday.

Addressing the event, Majumder said: “Along with raising awareness against adulterated food, mobile court raids must be launched regularly. Food security keeps the society secure, so we will employ a zero-tolerance policy against unsafe food.”He also called upon the journalism community to showcase informative reports about food.The meeting was chaired by Naogaon Deputy Commissioner Mizanur Rahman. District Superintendent of Police Iqbal Hossain, Naogaon Medical College Hospital Professor Dr Md Abul Bari, Municipality Mayor Nazmul Haque Sony, and many others attended the event.
