Radisson Hotel Group to reduce single-use plastics

Radisson Hotel Group announced several initiatives to cut the use of single-use plastics in all its hotels. The hotel group said it will replace small bottles for common bathroom products with bulk amenity dispensers across all brands by the beginning of 2022. According to the hotel group, this initiative will remove 57 million miniature amenities and avoid the use of almost 500 tonnes of plastic annually. The hotel group will no longer use plastic straws and plastic stirrers in its hotels by 2021, and will offer guests “eco-friendly alternatives” upon request. In September 2019, Radisson Hotel Group participated in the International Tourism Plastic Pledge, an initiative with an aim to keep holiday destinations plastic pollution free, led by the Dutch organisation MVO Nederland that focuses on corporate social responsibility.
